5 SEO Tips for Changing Site Titles in Squarespace

Here are some additional tips to optimise your site title in Squarespace for better search engine rankings and user experience:

  1. Be descriptive: Instead of using generic titles like “Home” or “Services,” make your page titles descriptive and specific to the content of each page.

  2. Include keywords: Naturally incorporate relevant keywords into your page titles to improve your website’s visibility in search engine results. That’s how to change your website name on Squarespace with SEO in mind.

  3. Keep it concise: Adopt an SEO title format by aiming for a length of 50–60 characters. Anything longer may get trimmed off in search results, making it harder for users to understand the content of your page. You can easily avoid this by doing a site preview before publishing.

  4. Avoid all-caps: Using all-caps in your page titles can make them harder to read. Instead, use proper capitalisation and formatting to make your titles clear and visually appealing.

  5. Experiment and analyse: Don’t be afraid to test different variations of your page titles and analyse their impact on your website’s rankings and click-through rates. Use headline analysis tools like CoSchedule to evaluate the effectiveness of your titles.

Whatever the reasons for wanting to change your website name in Squarespace, doing so couldn’t be simpler.

Head to your edit dashboard and select “Edit Site Header. In the dashboard that appears, you can choose the Site Title and Logo” option and change the title to whatever you want it to be.

Many people think the Squarespace change site title task is a lot more complicated than it actually is. In the past, I’ve had clients reach out who have spent hours searching through different parts of their Squarespace dashboard, such as SEO and marketing, to no avail.

Not everyone thinks to check the edit site header section, which is where you can change the name of your Squarespace website to whatever you want.
