Easily Search For Pages on Squarespace [Using Search In Pages Mode]

If you manage a large Squarespace website with hundreds of pages, navigating through them to make a simple edit can feel overwhelming. While organizing content into dropdown folders helps, manually scrolling through an extensive list of pages isn't practical.

Fortunately, Squarespace has a built-in search feature on the back end that makes finding pages quick and easy.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to use it efficiently.

Using Squarespace’s Back-End Search Feature

Many users are familiar with the front-end search bar on their Squarespace websites, but the back-end search function is a hidden gem that streamlines navigation. Here’s how you can use it to locate any page in just a few seconds:

Step 1: Access the Pages Panel

  1. Log into your Squarespace account and open your website editor.

  2. Navigate to the Pages section.

  3. Locate the small search icon at the top of the panel.

Step 2: Search for a Specific Page

  1. Click the search icon to open the search bar.

  2. Type the name of the page you’re looking for. For example, if you need to edit your Privacy Policy, simply type “Privacy.”

  3. The search results will highlight the folder where the page is stored. Click to open the folder and access the page instantly.

Even if a page is not linked or is disabled, Squarespace’s search tool can still locate it:

For instance, if you have an SEO landing page that’s disabled (e.g., “Liverpool SEO”), typing “Liverpool SEO” will bring it up. You can then open and edit the page just like any other.

Squarespace also allows you to perform a site-wide search:

For example, if you want to find email campaign drafts, simply type “email campaigns,” and they’ll appear in the search results without digging through various folders.

Why This Feature Is a Game-Changer

  • Saves Time: No more endless scrolling through folders.

  • Finds Hidden Content: Easily locate not-linked or disabled pages.

  • Effortless Navigation: Quickly access backend pages like email campaigns.

By mastering Squarespace’s search function, you’ll save time and effort, making website management much more efficient.
