One of my favorite ways to showcase a video on Squarespace is to embed a Loom video.
Loom is a free screen recording software and when you embed the video on your Squarespace website it comes with an array of great features such as a copy link icon and the chance to open the video in Loom in a new tab.
To embed your Loom video to Squarespace you need to add an embed block into the relevant section and then simply copy and paste the link for your Loom video into the embed link field. Easy.
If you don’t want to embed a Loom video there are other ways to add videos on Squarespace.
You’ll need to add a video block to your section and then you can choose to either upload your video and host it directly on Squarespace, or add a link to a YouTube or Vimeo video.
If you upload your video directly you’ll be able to edit the thumbnail and alter the video settings such as autoplay and mute. If you use a link to a YouTube or Vimeo video the only setting you can edit is the thumbnail.
Once you’re happy with your upload, no matter which option you chose, hit save and your video will be added to Squarespace.
Like I said, I personally think embedding Loom videos looks the best but I use all three options, Loom, uploading directly to Squarespace, and using links from YouTube/Vimeo, on my client websites.
